"Moccasin Flower, Soopalalie & Baby Moccasins"
by Kristi Bridgeman and Lisa Shepherd
Some long-time Jasper families may still have a treasured pair of baby moccasins made by the artists ancestor, Suzette Swift, as she was known to welcome families to the area by gifting moccasins to the babies. Children of the area will fondly recall the “Indian ice cream” that she made from soopalalie berries (buffalo/soap berries). To read about this artist collaboration, see this web page.
