This mandala is a painted interpretation of a beadwork art form from the Métis ‘Flower beadwork people’. Beadwork is a process requiring much patience. This painting was created as an homage to the artists Great Great Grandmother, a well-known Métis beadwork artist. This mandala is the artists nod to the lovely art form, and also to the threatened and endemic fruits and wildflowers of the West Coast.
