The artist has had a lifelong fascination with bird and flower brush painting and the gorgeous intricate cloissoné designs of eastern cultures. During research for a recent book project, Kristi was inspired to create a piece based on The Four Gentleman – a theme in artwork from China, Japan and Korea. A metaphor for unfolding seasons, traits of specific plants, and traditional virtues.
