Mason bees, and in fact all of our native and non-native species, are struggling. With thanks to our smallest of creatures for the harvest of cherry, quince, gooseberry, apple, rose, raspberry, strawberry, peach, salmonberry, and so many more. Here the tiny blue bees have pollinated our gardens and as the fruit ripens, they go on to lay their brood, the next generation. As stewards, we have come to accept the odd imperfect fruit and choose organic gardening for the protection and survival of all pollinators.
